This is a site where I post things urban, from a conservative point of view.

I love cities. However, my love of cities happened slowly, and is still growing. Afterall, I am just a child of the suburbs. I remember as a child taking the bus with my mother into Hartford, CT. It was clothes shopping time. There were no malls or what we now call town centers, at the time. The town itself was the town center. The city was a big town center, and when I was able to study drums in New York City, I fell in love with New York. I always wanted to live there.

I did end up in a city; Washington, DC. Actually living in a real city, made me an urbanist. I will be posting here from time to time with urban subjects that interest me. My main emphasis will be on three items: cost of housing, quality infrastructure, including public schools; and the one linchpin that binds it all together…Crime. Right now subscriptions are free, but I will consider putting a lot of articles behind a paywall sometime in the future. Subscribe to this newsletter and website. That way you won’t miss anything that I write. You won’t have to worry about missing anything. Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox.

This is my first real adventure into the world of opinion writing

I have some ideas that I would like to share, when it comes to making our cities attractive for all the middle classes. Yes, classes; plural! A lot of it goes against the common wisdom of many urban planners. Many of them are either Marxists or at the least, Democratic Socialists. I am neither. I am a right of center populist, big C, Conservative. What a lot of the planners won’t admit, is that you need a strong capitalist base in order to support all the social programs that are part of the multi-billion dollar a year, poverty industry.

You want to help “People Of Color”? Make our cities affordable and desirable places to live for all the middle classes. It will trickle down to the lower classes, raising a lot of them up the economic ladder. Once you have a good, solid middle class base of all races, you will have a stable city. Thank you for checking out my blogging attempt.
