Florida's new anti-rioting law
It's long overdue, and should be adopted everywhere
Florida’s governor signed a new law into effect on Monday, April, 19th. If you subscribe to Dr. Jack Wheeler’s To The Point News, you can see a video of the press conference here: Note…it’s behind a paywall.

The best part about the law, it that it will require those arrested to be held in jail until their first court appearance. They won’t be able to call mommy and daddy, and have them send the bail money, nor will they be arrested, charged, and released, never to show up again for their court dates. Hopefully, there will be quite a bit of lag time between the time of arrest and the first court date. How about at least two weeks? Two months would be better. And then if they are from out of state, have them be determined to be a flight risk, and have them held without bail pending trial. There are those that were arrested after the so-called riot at the Capitol on January 6th, that are still being held in jail. Let’s make it fair.
As the sheriff explains in the video, there is a difference between a peaceful protest and a riot, and he encourages peaceful protest. You have a right to peaceful protest protected in the US Constitution. Once the first brick gets thrown either at the police, or through a store window, it is no longer a peaceful protest. Protest organizers need to make sure they “educate” their fellow protesters to the difference. Those that choose to riot need to have a rude awakening as far as that “education.”
