Happy Thanksgiving
Let's look at what is good, what needs to be improved, and what needs to be rebuilt from scratch
First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends, as well as those that are not my friends. Today should be the day when we set aside our differences and break bread together. Why? Because we can! I will be having Thanksgiving dinner with other members of my church. One of my friends said, “We should have an old farts table. All we need is a sign for the table that says, ‘Get Off My Lawn.’”
No, I’m not making the sign. But here is what I am thinking: First of all, there are so-called “Essential Personnel” out there that are working today. Those include the police, the fire departments, the folks working in the restaurants making sure you get to eat…I could go on. How about the bus and subway drivers that are making sure that people without cars can get from point A to point B?
If you see them, thank them. If it wasn’t for them, you wouldn’t be having your basic worry-free Thanksgiving. Now about that crazy uncle…
Since I tend to be that crazy uncle, I’ll leave it at that.
